Biography

Adam grew up in California, Washington, and Arizona, but has called Kansas home since 1988. He moved to Lawrence in 2000 to attend graduate school at KU and has been here ever since.

Adam is excited to join the Residency/Certifications/Communications team, where he will apply his extensive experience as a graphic artist and web developer in his role as the clearinghouse, communications, and technology specialist. With a passion for creative problem-solving, Adam also brings over 16 years of experience as an instructional developer, specializing in designing courses that focus on empathetic communication and expertly integrating design skills with adult learning theory. A bona fide uber-nerd, his enthusiasm for all types of games even led him to own and operate a board game store in Lawrence with his family.

As a graphic artist, painter, and printmaker for 36 years, Adam has previously taught painting and drawing as an adjunct instructor at KU, Emporia State University, and figure drawing at the Lawrence Arts Center. His work has been shown in galleries across Kansas, Missouri, Washington, Hawaii, and New York, as well as internationally in Kiel, Hamburg, Cologne, and Sylt, Germany.
